Married life has a lot of ups and downs and it is sometimes difficult to keep a balance of everything. It takes a lot of effort from both partners to keep the bond strong and not let it get affected by the odds.
There are some incidences in life where the husband and wife’s love is so strong that they stick together no matter how big the problem they face. This is one such story of Turia Pitt and Michael Hoskin.
In 2011, Turia took part in an ultra-marathon and that turned out to be a life-changing incident for her. The participation was never supposed to be the way it ended up for Turia. It was a nightmare for her and her life was barely saved.
Sharing the traumatic experience in an Instagram Post, Turia wrote
“Ten years on from the fire, this is what I remember,”
“I remember the hot Kimberly sun beating down, burning my already burnt skin.”
“I remember trying to drink some water but spitting it out because it was boiling hot,”
“I remember seeing bits of my skin stuck to the rocks and spinifex.”
In the grassfire where she was trapped, while fighting for her life, she kept thinking about her husband Michael Hoskin and his love for her. She wrote in the Instagram post
“I remember thinking about Michael, my Michael,”
“I remember telling myself, ‘Think of his warm face, think of his honey voice, think of his golden skin. Keep thinking about Michael”
It took her a lot of hardships to recover completely from the injuries she received from the fire. She underwent approximately 200 operations. More than half of her body was covered with severe injuries and the doctors were also uncertain about her situation and recovery. She wrote in detail about her journey of recovering from the injuries in her Personal blogpost.
Turia went through a lot of hardships and a constant struggle to get back to her life after the incident. She was lucky to have a supportive and caring boyfriend at that time who is now her husband. Michael was working as a police officer at the time when the incident happened. He resigned from his job to take complete care of Turia.
The story ends here when today, they are a happily married couple with two kids. Turia went back to her normal life and she runs again. She keeps sharing her fitness routine on her Instagram account. Along with that, she shares posts about her lovely family. Her family is a living example of true love. Turia and Michael are a motivation for couples and their stories is extremely inspirational.
