His ex-girlfriend was left speechless after telling her that he had paid off her mortgage.
Shaun Nyland was overjoyed when he told his ex-girlfriend Cat the announcement, and he recorded her reaction and posted it on TikTok. On the celebration of her 31st birthday, Cat, his child’s mother, received the joyful news.
Shaun gives Cat a set of keys in the video, which has earned over 5 million views on TikTok. Cat asks: “What are you giving me these for?”
Then he told her: “It’s your birthday today, and I wish you have the happiest birthday ever.”

“And look, I know we’re not together anymore, and I’ve been so proud of you; you’re the best mom ever, so I did something. I rang up the bank; I paid off the entire mortgage. This house now belongs to you.”
After receiving the news, Cat maintains her composure and informs Shaun that she doesn’t believe him.
“I promise you, this house belongs to you. I rang the bank, paid it off; you own this house.”
When she opens her email, she realizes it’s not a joke. She knows it’s not a joke after that and can’t believe it.

Shaun released another video in which he explains why he paid off Cat’s and the couple’s son’s mortgages.
“At the end of the day, my ex-girlfriend gave me the best gift any man could ask for by bringing Leo into this world, and I know it was tough for Cat to try and live the same lifestyle we lived, but by herself,” he said.
Shaun and Cat, who had been together for seven years, divorced early this year.
